The International Village Show is a comprehensive exhibition and monograph by the artis group Myvillages, which was established by Antje Schiffers (D), Wapke Feenstra (NL), and Kathrin Bohm (D/GB).
In a collaborative work that is extensive in terms of both space and time, Myvillages search for images and concepts that, rather than comparing, reflect the reciprocal relationship of countryside and city and its implications. Cooperative projects in various villages around the world bring a new dynmism to solidified notions of local resources and rural production capacity, agriculture and culture, internal and external perception.
Over two years, sixteen villages have come together at one loaction, the Gartenhaus of the Museum of Contemporary Art Leipzig, which was remodeled specifically for the show.
