Blaine Brownell is an architect, a researcher of emergent materials, a sustainable building advisor, an educator, and former Fulbright scholar. In addition to authoring the popular book series (and companion website) Transmaterial: A Catalog of Materials That Redefine Our Physical Environment, Brownell is recognized as a leading expert on innovative material technologies for architecture and design. He currently teaches at the University of Minnesota.
