AV Proyectos 063. Dossier Sou Fujimoto

Uitgever:Arquitectura Viva

  • Paperback
  • Engels, Spaans
  • 80 pagina's
  • 3 jun. 2014

Sou Fujimoto's recent body of work aims to go beyond the small scale while exploring the relationships and boundaries between interior and exterior. The dossier included in AV Proyectos 63 examines some of the latest projects by the Japanese architect.

This issue of av proyectos also features the competition for the new headquarters of the Nobel Foundation in Stockholm, including the winning scheme by David Chipperfield and the two shortlisted proposals by the Swedish teams of Johan Celsing and Gert Wingårdh. The new Construction section presents seven experimental pavilions that propose different solutions to address a variety of programs, but all them use one same material: wood.

The Detail section covers the construction works of the new BBVA headquarters in Madrid by Herzog & de Meuron, who partially recover the existing buildings and raise a sculptural tower – nicknamed 'La Vela' (the sail) – that is already a new distinctive landmark in the city skyline.

The issue also includes the inhabitable sculptures by the Brazilian Ernesto Neto, whose sensual and coloristic work has been recently on view at the Bilbao Guggenheim. The Photography pages are devoted to the series 'Pastoral' by Alexander Gronsky, whose impressive photographs reflect the young Estonian artist's fascination for the boundary spaces of cities, where the urban and the rural coexist.
