AV 153-154. Spain Yearbook 2012

Publisher:Arquitectura Viva

  • Paperback
  • English, Spanish
  • 244 Pages
  • Jun 27, 2012

Gathering a selection of 24 recently completed projects, this yearbook of architecture in Spain presents an anthology that is very aware of – and actively addresses – the key role Europe’s economic crisis has played in Spanish social reality. Although architecture and the construction sector have been hard hit by the economic situation, forcing the closure of numerous offices and pushing others to seek work abroad, judging by projects like the Metropol Parasol in Seville, the town hall of Baeza, or the Rey Juan Carlos Hospital in Madrid, there still remains some hope for the future. Includes detailed project information and two texts by Luis Fernández-Galiano.
