The authors of the essay ‘Levend landschap’  ('Living Landscape') set out to provide insight into the cultural significance of landscape and the notion of the public domain. The thesis that they put forward in this essay is the idea that the landscape contains certain aspects that are under pressure in public space today. This thesis is further investigated on the basis of four present-day designs and tested by means of a number of design interventions in the landscape of the Green Heart, in particular on the margins of a number of towns and cities.
