In 2009, Wim Crouwel received the Gerrit Noordzij prize at the Royal Academy of Art in Den Haag, for his progressive contributions to typography, education and type design. In March 2012, an exhibition produced by the Type and Media 11/12 class was held to celebrate those contributions.

This is the publication produced to commemorate the exhibition. It gives insight into his work, with a focus on his typefaces, their use and Crouwel’s pioneering structural approach to design. Along side the work are articles by Wim, Ben Bos, Tony Brook, Tobias Frere-Jones, Karel Martens and David Quay.
