“Fashion is that which you wear with pleasure. Being fashionable (or unfashionable) becomes a state of mind, something very personal. And perhaps that is the true meaning of fashion today”. Massimo Osti, “Moda, cultura e... media”, L’Unità, 16 Feb. 1993

Creating fashion through timeless garments, clothes which are worn with pleasure, venturing into a decades-long experimentation on fabrics: research undertaken by Massimo Osti, the father of hi-tech apparel on an international level.

The book Ideas from Massimo Osti traces the career of the visionary designer from Bologna, presenting his various brands, from the early silkscreen prints with Chester Perry, to his worldwide success with C.P. Company and Stone Island. Also explored are the technical and stylistic innovations that have characterised his pioneering lines over the years, from the research on the characteristics on historical military capes to the invention of avant-garde dyeing techniques, particularly garment dyeing.

From Bologna came a total revolution in the concept of fashion, a central hub of modern textile research which changed the course of the style of the 1980s towards the casual, sportswear direction that we all use today.
